Blue screen everytime I try to edit. :/ Please help!

So once again I find myself going through hell and back with SV and now I've encountered the most annoying, troublesome issue so far.

This happened like a few days back: I opened SV and started to edit my footage and all of a sudden the preview window starts to look really distorted, like the whole screen usually does when I experience a crash in Photoshop, and then boom, blue screen of death. Once I came back and signed in to Windows I opened up SV again and, surprise surprise, I got ANOTHER blue screen just from jumping between different areas on the timeline. WTF?! I've repeated these steps over and over for like two days now and I get a blue screen everytime.

So now I can't even edit, I mean I'm used to rendering problems but this? THIS is just a whole new level of bullshit.

I know laptops aren't really made for heavy editing programs but it has never gotten this bad. Unfortunately the video card of my laptop is unstable as f**k and while I've grown used to occasional blue screens with Photoshop it has never happened with Vegas, least not while editing. I so wish this piece of trash laptop wasn't my only source of video editing but, unfortunately, it is.

Sorry for sounding so bitter and raw, I'm just really upset and don't know what to do.

You could try to use another edting system? Maybe Adobe Premiere? If it still bugs out, I'd recommend getting another laptop or a new video card.. might be tough to save up and get one but it may call for it.

Oh hunny.. sounds like your graphics card has consummated itself... Think you need to save up some money and get yourself a new one

Seems like I temporarily fixed it... Installed the latest version of Vegas and suddenly it's okay to edit again. O_o I get occasional blue screens whenever I'm on the internet though, ugh... Going to save up for a new laptop, looks like this one has passed its glory days.
