Hmm. I have to admit FFXIII did get pretty boring as you progressed through the story; it's so long! Somtimes I wanted to give up and watch a walkthrough T-T But I stuck through and played it all the way. xD I have to agree with some, there is no need for FFXIII-2. I can't really explain why, but I bet you guys can guess why. However, the trailer and screenshot make it look pretty interesting. A million questions zap out at you when you watch the trailer. Like, for example: W. T. F? : D

As for FFv13? It was not at all what I expected .. x.x Not whatsoever. But, hey, watch me say I love it when I finally get it! xDD The game setting looks kind of .. un-Final Fantasy like (Yes, you can hate me). I don't picture Final Fantasy in big cities with cars and fancy, modern day-like outfits. I picture it like FF12, when it was sort of not so modern.

The city, cars and the modern settings made me "hhnnuh?"
Especially when you see Noctis in his tux //cue drooling// and I
reckon he is one of the few FF characters that actually look Asian.

Also I enjoyed FFXIII and am excited about there being more.
Then again I'm simple when it comes to games - I like it, I play it. Don't like it, don't play it.
Admittedly FFXIII was really linear; they could have made it like Advents Children instead of an actual game, what with the amount of cutscenes and focus on making the characters look good (not a bad thing at all, sexy as they are). I liked the story just fine too and cooed appropriately over Snow/Serahs relationship.

I remain dubious about the storyline for FFXIII-2 though. Hopefully the battleplay proposes more of a challenge.

Hmmm, I'm going to sound real negative, but I'm not looking forward to any of them. <.< Sequels just have that ring that they won't be as good as the first, and XIII itself was such a huge disappointment to me in the first place. However, actually the game play was more of a disappointment then the story itself. Maybe if Enix become wise, and listen to their fans, and ditch the stuff they did in XIII, and bring classic elements, then I'll give the sequel a chance. Also consider to drop the linearity...that really killed XIII in the first place, in my opinion.

I also just hope for any returned characters to the sequel, won't be ditzy or expose fan service like they did for X-2. I'd RAGE I TELL YOU. xOO I'd so give up any sequel in FF. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR "DISASTERIFIC" FROM LIGHTNING'S MOUTH EVEEEEER. xOO

VSXIII, I agree, it's really turning out to what I've not expected, but I think it's too early to judge, and a few minutes to absorb somewhat of the gameplay and story doesn't justify anything until you played the game. I just hope it's one of those cases, where you think it'll be mediocre, or fail, to be surprised how well it turned out. So I'll just wait until the prices drop; I won't be buying them on release date nor will my hopes be high... ~__~

I want both and I'm going to buy both but can't seem to get excited about either. Lightning looks so drastically different, the whole realm looks like something out of IV, which I like, but seems so random compared to Pulse and Cocoon...I like the look of the guy though.
But, I live in hope Fang and Snow will come back in it ^^

Versus...I'm just waiting for more footage of the friend with the scar. There's so much footage of Noctis and Stella out now but I'd like to see some of the other characters too, so then I can get more excited - it'll seem more likely to be released then too haha

I think they took all of the negative criticism on board about FF13 and decided to rectify their mistakes with the gameplay in the sequel. Or at least I hope they do. I missed being able to go into someone house and try and open their fridge and the reply being, "Hey didn't your mama tell you not to go into peoples houses and open their fridge?" - or something like that 8D

First of all, I must say I agree with all of you XDDD

As for FFVXIII, the first thing that came to my mind was "My goodness, they haven't finished Versus, and they start with the sequel of XIII?" XD And they're also with Agito (now re-called Type-0, by the way XD EDIT:: Okay Laura just said it XDDDD), and with Kingdom Hearts 3D, and with a billion of games XDDDDDDD And if they want to release XIII-2 this winter... as one of you said, they spend 5 years making they game (ok, they were testing Playstation 3 system, 'cause this was the first FF for Playstation 3, but anyway), and just one year (or less) make the sequel? I don't know =/

I really love FFXIII (although sometimes you get tired of playing it, it's sooooooo long), and I can understand they want to continue it... they have to take back Vanille and Fang! XD No, really, I love both of them, but that makes me wonder... why can't SE just make a no-so-happy ending and be ok with that? I mean, it happened the same with FFX. It's one of my favourite games in the world, and I cried a lot in the ending, I didn't want a sad ending for Tidus and Yuna, but seriously, it was necessary to do FFX-2 the way they did? I mean, I love it, but it wasn't as good as FFX. So it seems like everytime they make a sad ending, they feel guilty and they have to turn it to a happy ending XDDDD They didn't take back Aerith just because they literally stabbed her, but... XD Just wondering, don't get me serious XD

So if Lightning starts singing in the opening of this game, and then she says "DISASTERIFIC!", I'll go to Japan and kill SE staff XDDDDDDDDDDDD

I'll resume what I said in this stupid post: I'm excited, but I HOPE they don't make it look like fanservice as they did with X-2 U.U

Yeah, I personally Agree with people who think that FF13 first story, didnt go so well.
its got boring and boring.

But I don't it will be boring. Only Cause it was a first trial. 4 Years to Make.
Now, Its going out this year. since they get it and stuff like that.

So, I'll buy 13-2. & Dissidia 012.

Well it was said at the time FF13 was released that they were considering DLC as they left so much out of the game that they had created anyway. Perhaps they've put this toward the sequel instead, or have been working on the sequel at the same time as 13?
I hope so anyway, otherwise its just rushed. Although, some of the things I heard they left out was bigger maps and locations, Lightning's new world and outfit don't seem to fit in with that somehow. So maybe they really are just chucking out a quick sequel...
Seera - I miss the stealing from peoples fridges too haha - 8 was the best for that, the little house in Timber you could take stuff from and the old man would get narky with you for it - but I can't see it happening with XIII-2 or Versus somehow :(

I agreeee.
The graphics in the Stella Noctis scene - the mind boggles. The car scenes seem so much more amazing, then that scene with Stella seemed of lower quality than before :S I think she looks a little less pretty, sadly
I dislike Lightning's outfit too, something about the chest part seems so out of place for her, the feathers and legs showing fits, kinda...but the rest :S not so much.
I hope Snow still looks the same <3 perhaps without a bandana though hahah
I wonder if Hope will be older?

I don't know how reliable this source is but this was posted up on another forum that I visit:

Similar to XIII, Lightning will be a principal character. Other characters will also appear in the game in "unexpected forms," according to Toriyama. Some of the returning characters will see major changes to their atmosphere. The game will also have a number of new characters, in addition to the mysterious male character from the trailer.

That mystery character is the character next to Lightning in the game's logo, Kitase confirmed. He's meant to be a character in conflict with Lightning, a character of equal strength.

The name for the mysterious male character who appears next to Lightning has yet to be announced.

The early trailer and single official screenshot show a major change for Lightning: she wears armor. While this is a big change, the character's image will not have a Final Fantasy X-2-style change, said Kitase. For those who haven't played it, FFX-2 had a poppy, comedic feel compared to FFX, with Yuna and the other leads dancing around and changing clothes during battle. XIII-2 will have the serious feel of a true numbered entry in the series, said Kitase.

Lightning appeared in the trailer surrounded by feathers at some points. These features are used in a number of areas, including parts of Lightning's armor. Remember how roses appeared on the screen when Lightning summoned Odin in FFXIII? This time, the feathers are meant to represent something holier -- a closer approach to the realm of gods.

The unexpected forms and change of atmosphere pop out to me.

As for Stella looking crap compared to the earlier trailers I think it's because she's been changed from an FMV to in-game, although that's what it looks like to me. I don't know for 100% ^-^

I think you're right about Stella, but then...before the scene didn't look exactly like the FMV of her with her sword, you know? Her hair looks a different shade too. Oh well!
