Thus the long stretch of silence ensued. Embedded with an extreme amount of awkwardness and a touch of shock.

"Z...Zack?" Tifa's eyes were still wide, her hands shook...almost violently.

"Ermm...hi." Zack's face creased with worry as he stared at the expression of the onyx haired bar-tender, watching how her hands suddenly went to retrieve the broken pieces of glass lying absently on the floor.

"AH! Come in." Tifa struggled a comforting, welcoming smile as she forced herself to look up into the eyes of a SOLDIER.

Cloud encouraged Zack in as he went to help Tifa with the collection of the shards of glass.

"No...leave it." Tifa waved her hand dismissing Cloud from his offered help, aiming at him to tend to his friend.

Nothing needed to be said. Cloud stood and left the conflicted Tifa to continue in what she was doing. Her hands struggled to grip the glass as the shaking did not sieze, and tears brimmed her waterline once again. Why...am i even close to tears? With her blurred vision slowing the progress of her work she decided to pull herself together, emotional strength was her positive point, she couldn't let a small thing like this stop the working clockwork within her emotional balance.

Suddenly she hissed under her breath as a piece of glass sliced an inch down her index finger, blood followed. She chucked the shards she has collected in her hands in the bin and headed for the bathroom upstairs to wash the crimson liquid that ran down her palm, rapidly heading for her wrist.

"Denzel, watch the bar for a second please." She gave a warm smile before she took off up the stairs.

Cold water numbed the cut, clearing off all the remaning blood that wanted to stain her finger. Grabbing a nearby towel she gently dabbed the cut, the numbness disipating being replaced with a pain close to that of lemon juice in the wound.

"Me and my clumsiness." She slightly giggled to herself, more so for reassurance and to calm the mixed emotions she was experiencing.

Generous spots of blood reminsced upon the towel as she replaced it on the railing it previously occupied. She wasn't ready to waltz back into a room full of customers. So she waited....and waited...until the tears that threatened to fall....had fallen.

A/N: KEEP COMMENTING GUYS I LOVE IT! 8D I feel this FanFic is gunna be one hella long one, i have so many ideas for a fantastic and gripping plotline ;D Be prepared for an emotional, humorous, violent, romantic story upon what could have happened if Zack survived ;D



"You remember Tifa....don't you?" Cloud's voice broke through Zack's constant distant gaze as he stared around the customer infested area.

"It's vague...but...she was the guide when i went to Nibelheim on my mission with Sephiroth....she was so young and yet...here she is now...a full grown woman." Zack followed the dreamy stares of other men who sighed the moment Tifa bent down to retrieve a crateful of drinks.

Cloud seemed to have stiffened next to Zack at the mention of all the mens stares. He couldn't help but be protective of her, it was only natural after everything they had been through, the blood, sweat and tears they had shed together.Together. Cloud tore his gaze from the elegant bar-tender who was currently taking orders from a new flock of customers. Yet, he searched...and searched and he could not deny the fact that Tifa, was flooding his mind right now. Every time he saw her his thoughts became a scrambled mess, HECK even he, himself became a scrambled mess, he couldn't help but have his gut feeling tell him that something more was there. He didn't know what to do, Cloud the once "Ex-SOLDIER" who was still plagued by all the remaining memories he had of Aerith and Sephiroth.

"Why don't you ask her?" Zack took a sip of his "Midgar Cactuar Special" soon after he has made the brief question.

"Ask who what?" Cloud's face of puzzlement amused Zack highly.

He gave a throaty laugh as he placed an arm around the bewildered blonde.

"Like you don't know...c'mon...you were just thinking about her." He gave Cloud a quick wink nudging his head towards the occupied bar-tender.

Now then, if Zack's grin wasn't enough to make the whole world know about Cloud's compromising situation, then it was definitely the red hue that had imprinted itself upon Cloud's cheeks.

"I-I-I-I have know idea what you are aiming at Zack." Cloud turned away from the grinning fool.

"Believe me, i think you do." Zack prompted.

"You've only been back four hours." Cloud's voice was filled with a tinge of embarrassment that still needed to disappear.

"Trust me-." Zack leaned it to Cloud and whispered in his ear.

"I think the feeling is mutual." He leaned back pressing his hands at the back of his head while Cloud looked back over to the bar's main attraction of the male gender.

Why do i suddenly feel so happy? Cloud couldn't stop looking at the woman who currently dominated his mind.

A/N: YAYNESS FOR POSITIVE FEEDBACK 8D Gosh, i had a sudden turn of writers block for this Chapter but i think it came out well :)WARNING: SEXUAL INNUENDO IS INTENDED!


"AH! CLOUD." Tifa's surprised moan rang throughout the empty Kitchen on a silent Sunday afternoon.

"Sorry....do i need to be more gentle?" Cloud's breath brushed against the fine hairs of her neck as he spoke.

"No it's-...do it like this." Tifa moved her hands in sync with his as they kneaded the area together.

"How's it feeling?" Cloud turned slightly pressing himself against her even so more.

"It feels good." Tifa continued the rapid pace with her hands, as Cloud also copied her movements.

"Ready yet?" Cloud's eyes were full of temptation as he looked at the scene before him.

"Just...a little more." Tifa closed her eyes as she felt Cloud's callused hands brush over a sensitive area on her delicate skin.

"Can i taste it?" The cerulean eyes seemed to change into a more musky, navy colour as he asked.

"Then there wouldn't be any left for Marlene or Denzel." Tifa replied.

The motion of her hands stopped as did Cloud's and she removed them from the bowl her and Cloud had been so readily kneading the dough for the chocolate chip cookies they were making.(I KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS WERE REALLYYYYY THINKING, YOU BUNCH OF PERVERTS XD) She loved teaching Cloud new things, whether it'd be something simple like a fact she had learnt herself, but teaching him something that she was independent in and he knew practically nothing of, was something special to her. Something that...warmed her heart.

"Hey Teef, where'd Zack go off to?" Cloud asked as he washed his hands, picking off all the remaining dough stuck to his fingers.

"He went to clean his sword in the back room." Tifa looked over her shoulder just in time to see Cloud take off.

Zack had already been here a week, and she has already become accustomed to his lurking presence, but...lately he was strangely serene, quite...hidden within himself. She contemplated many reasons but none came to mind that would make a viable reason for Zack to be acting in such a manner.

She went to wash her hands from all the reminiscing dough that had clung to her fingers like a baby to it's mother. The moments her and Cloud shared together were so rare that this was the first one ever since he had defeated Sephiroth once again, she couldn't deny the fact that he made her smile so many times whether it'd be inside or out. He was her childhood friend, she kept telling herself this...yet...why is it when someone would say "Cloud" her heart would flutter ever so slightly, and she herself would feel a warm sensation encasing her?

Cloud's hands tingled from the sensation of being in contact with Tifa's, the vibrant feeling running through each cell in his body. He rarely could spend time with her, it's not that he didn't want to (quite the opposite) he just didn't have time due to work...and oh i don't know...saving the world. Speaking of saving the world, he found Zack sitting in on the door step of the back door polishing off the remaining debris that resided upon his sword. Cloud took a seat next to the Ex-SOLDIER.

"I never realised how much i missed this old thing, until now." Zack looked at the Buster Sword with a gleaming passion, clearly reflecting in his eyes.

"It's only natural to miss something as unique as that." He nodded towards the huge body of the sword.

"Heh. Say...you never told me you were some Delivery Boy."

Ahhhh crap.

"Ah, yeah, it's to help Tifa with funding this place." Cloud looked down, eyes watching the small pieces of dust that floated away in the wind.

"I see-" Zack rested his sword upon the nearby wall and put down the polishing spray and cloth he has been using.

"I taught you well." Zack turned to face Cloud, and smiled. Not just one of those "i'm happy" smiles, it was one of those genuine, full of condescending feeling and integrity smiles. It had been a long time, a very long time since Cloud had seen Zack smile like that.

Suddenly Tifa came up behind them both, disturbing the brotherly atmosphere surrounding them.

"Cloud, phone." She passed the phone to Cloud which he took with thanks shimmering in his eyes.

"Hello." A muffled reply could be heard on the other end as Tifa and Zack listened in intently, trying to make out the incoherent voice on the other end.

"Ah Vincent, what's the problem?" Cloud's voice was set into monotone and his gaze became dark as the next words that were only audible were "Jenova" and "Resurrection."

Zack and Tifa could only certainly assume what this meant...and....it didn't seem good. At all.

GASP Vincent always the bringer of some dark news.

JENOVAAAAAAAAA

A/N: XDDD this took forever to update but here it is the next chapter ;D I'm also planning to start another FanFic at the same time and try to prioritise myself around both :)



Cloud was frozen. Nothing seemed visible to him anymore only the faint words of Vincent's news seemed the most clear. Jenova....was going to be resurrected. Questions entered his mind filling it with an onslaught of unanswerable quotations. Does that mean Sephiroth is alive. WILL Jenova be resurrected. Who is going to do this? Does it mean i have to fight again alongside everyone else? Will the world be destroyed? He wanted to move...now. He knew Zack and Tifa were looking at him strange, who wouldn't. The phone was hanging limply in his right hand the constant buzz of a phonecall that had ended from the other side, his eyes had grew dark and misty, almost like he was hiding everything in their depths. A quiet voice broke through his momentary stand-still.

"Cloud....?" Tifa's eyes were full of worry, as was her voice. Cloud turned to her and stood, shakily he placed his left hand on her shoulder in an attempt to reassure her that everything will be okay. She knew better. She knew that life would not stay as it was for long, they were saviours after all, they were destined to save the world from such events, only this....this brought back painful memories of a time Cloud wished to forget.

Cloud started walking away until Zack perked up and gave his trademark smile.

"Hey spike, lighten up, we don't have to be sad at the prospect of kicking some butt." He gave a thumbs up for extra measure.

Cloud couldn't help but smile. Zack's optimism always got the better of everyone and when Zack smiiled...it was only natural for the surrounding people to also smile.

"Heh, thanks Zack....Tifa." Cloud walked off into his office to get more information on this matter.

"He'll be okay." Tifa smiled at Zack, a hand on her shoulder where Cloud last touched.

"He's a Strife after all." Zack finished for Tifa.

"Right, i'm going to take a shower." Tifa skipped off ignoring the reminiscing memories that were almost breaking into her thoughts.

Zack took off to his room and decided to get some well earned rest as the journey ahead looked awfully tiring.

It had already reached midnight everything was silent. The only thing that made the slightest noise was Zack's heavy breathing in his room. Tifa couldn't sleep. She knew Cloud was still up, his office light was still on even at this hour, he always did this, overworked himself. She decided he needed a telling off, what's the use of being the saviour once again and not getting some sleep. She quietly waltzed downstairs and came to Cloud's office door, her hand came in contact with the soft wood and gave it a quiet knock.

"Cloud?" She whispered.

Soon after a familiar blond hue filled her vision and the door opened letting her in. He was tired. That Tifa knew for certain, his eyes had become weary and even his gaze looked tired. She saw multiple papers scattered on his desk with rough notes on them, mostly consisting of phone numbers and merchandise stores.

"You need to sleep." It wasn't an order, more like a request, she didn't want to see Cloud like this again, overworking into the early hours of the morning.

"I will...soon." Cloud didn't even look at her and just piled the scattered papers in order, carefully placing them inside one of the desks drawers.

Tifa came nearer to him, and used the same gesture Cloud had done earlier today, she placed her hand on his shoulder, her fingers gliding along the exposed skin that his sweater left. Now, he looked up at her, and only now did he realise how strikingly beautiful she actually looked. With concern engraved in her features and her silky onyx hair stained by the looming moonlight, how can one not notice someone as stunning as her? Not only did her natural beauty come through but it was what night wear she had chosen to sleep in. It was the sorriest excuse for a nightgown Cloud had ever laid eyes on. The dress was a creamy white going no lower than her mid-thigh, it was held onto her by two flimsy, thin straps and the V-Neck exposed a small portion of the valley between her breasts. If Cloud had his way and this world was infact a perfect world, he would have her here and now, but he knew that this was merely his wishful thoughts taunting him.

"Cloud?"

He realised he had been staring for quite some time at the fine woman before him and quickly stood breaking eye contact.

"I'll get some rest now, don't worry."

He turned to walk out the door to only be enveloped by a pair of fine, smooth arms. Tifa's body pressed desperately into his back making Cloud question the meaning of life and her hands gripped onto the front of his sweater. As if this moment could get any better. Then he heard the broken sobs.

"Just...don't go back to how you were...please...when Zack and Aerith died....you tortured yourself mentally and physically....i don't think...i can bare to see that for a second time." Her forehead rested onto his back while she still held the tears back and let her voice pour out her emotions.

He turned in her arms and he hugged her tight. This was their moment and he wanted it to last. He knew Tifa had slowly broken over the years but the smile that always plastered her face was sincerely genuine and gave everyone the hope that maybe, one day, a perfect world wasn't that much of a bad idea. His hands rubbed her back slowly pulling her closer to his chest. He knew this hug was meant for comfort, nothing more and for this...he was glad, so glad that Tifa Lockhart stood by his side.

With Avalanche assembled, and the additional new member Zack, things were set and ready to plan. A number of them, namely Vincent, Barret, Nanaki, Cloud and Tifa stood in the middle of the room forming a poor representation of a semi-circle, whereas, Zack, Cid, Yuffie and Cait Sith assumed their sitting positions on the leather bound, sink-in sofa. All of them conversed in deep conversation as they planned out what to do, where to be and how to end all this. Cloud's voice took on it's leadership tone it was renowned for.

"We can't simply walk in there guns blazing, despite the fact i know how much you would appreciate that Barret." Cloud gave him a notorious glare.

"Hell Yeah!" Barret playfully mocked locking his gun-arm onto an artificial target. Cloud looked back to the whole group.

"We need to be able to have the preemptive on the enemy, make them think they would not expect us, however before all this is taken down and noted, i have taken the privilege of getting a weapons master to have ready a new set of artillery." Grins and cheers resounded in the small Seventh Heaven living room. Once again Cloud muted the room with his sense of superiority.

"However, with our priority being secretive upon attacking the enemy this means we need as less amount of discretion as possible and we all have the sense of fortitude within us so i think my idea is highly plausible." Cloud smirked at the face Yuffie was currently pulling. The confused look really did not suit her.

"Cloud's use of big words hurts my head." Yuffie dramatically tossed her head back onto the higher rest of the sofa, placing the back of her hand on her forehead.

"In other words, for Yuffie's sake...we need to split into small groups." Cloud's look was full of concentration as he paused and searched within his mind for the grouping ideas.

Everyone looked eagerly at him waiting for his response.

"Barret, Yuffie and Vincent, you're the first team, you shall be heading straight to Gongaga to try and sniff out any information and make sure you check the abandoned mako reactor. Cid, Nanaki and Cait Sith, you will be heading for Kalm, it's nearby so ask the residents questions on rumors and seek out anything suspicious. Myself, Tifa and Zack shall head straight for Mt Nibel and look into the mako reactor over there. This will take action once we have got our new weapons and armour, now then, the rendezvous point shall be at the Golden Saucer, i'm quite sure we all know where that is." Automatic nods motioned the room in an up-and-down gesture. Tifa commended Cloud on his planning before-hand and the sense of leadership he has improved on. Zack's eyes met Cloud's as both men exchanged warming smiles, Zack's gleaming with a sense of pride from Cloud's informative talk.

As all members started to shuffle towards the door, Cloud spoke a few final words before they were due to depart.

"Oh, and remember...be prepared for the worst."

Always the killer of a good vibe, Zack thought.
