Shoujo/Josei Recommendations?

I just finished watching Kimi ni Todoke and I really want to watch more Shoujo animes. They're the only genre of anime I really like. I have watched Chihayafuru and Bokura Ga Ita aswell, and I love them both as well.

Can anyone reccommend any other good shoujos with interesting/unique characters likes these? Art style is also important to me, I just can't take animes that are toooo cartoony/animeish (blue hair, stupidly massive eyes etc) seriously. Has anyone got any recommendations?

I'm not too sure if any of these are technically Shoujo (since I'm not too clear on what it actually means XD) but I hope they fit with what you're looking for ^^.

#1 Fruits Basket - probably my favourite manga, the anime is good as well however the manga goes on for much longer and delves into the story much, much more.

#2 Clannad - Really, really emotional. It really makes you feel for the characters and connect with them. Clannad After Story (the second part) is the better of the two.

#3 Angel Beats - I actually didn't like this all that much but I know a lot of people that did so I guess you might too. I must say the ending did surprise me though.

I've also heard Kanon is quite good but I haven't got round to watching it yet.
