the effects and the flow!! I don't like a lot when a pg stands on a background and in the next scene the background changes and then changes again xD so I usually try my best to make them believable...
and then of course the storyline and the emotions!

I choose a song (if I don't have any idea about the video yet) and then just start to edit something... If I get fed up (which usually happens after like... 5 minutes) I save the project if I want and well... It may never be opened again. xD
I must have over 50 old project files...

This is a bit weird but I don't really mind... As long as I like the result it's fine. Although I've tried to improve my sucky flow. XD

I like funny and happy vids but I'm not very good at making them myself. Dark(ish) and angsty vids are more my thing.

What kind of Music do you usually use in your videos? Depends... But they're all songs I really like or have liked.

I usually have to listen through the song a few times before I can start doing anything with it. Then I start to add some scenes...

What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
I try to focus on the timing and that the scenes fit the lyrics. I don't care about effects that much.. as long as it looks pretty ^^

Generally Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and Xenosaga. However I will probably be doing a ton of Romeo x Juliet videos for now. ^^; Also I really love editing with Lunar, since I adore it, but I just haven't made any videos with it in a while. .__.

Sad ones, usually. ^^; I don't think
of myself as a depressing person, but most of my music is depressing,
so it kind of makes sense. I also like making happy ones too though, I
just have less happy music at my disposal.

How do you start making a video?
I listen to a song, and if I really like it then I start to go through my head and see what fandom would fit best with it. Either that or I hear a song and relate to it somehow, and basically just go "okay, these clips will work!". I don't have sketches or anything, but I do have a word document in which I write down ideas and sometimes plan what I'll do in certain parts of a video.

What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
It depends what I'm editing for. Like, if I'm editing something that reminds me of a situation in my life, or something to try to make someone I know feel better, then the story is most important, since that's the main thing that I'm trying to get across. If it's just a completely random project though, I would probably say flow.

Which fandoms do you usually vid?
Final Fantasy or various CLAMP series mostly, but I've also played around with Saiyuki, Generator Gawl (I intend to edit with this more), Mononoke (NOT the Miyazaki movie), Godchild, Kuroshitsuji, Devil May Cry (again, I plan on using that more in the near future), Trinity Blood, Disney's Robin Hood, and I've got a Casshern video in the works.

Depends on my mood really, but I probably enjoy upbeat/funny videos the most. I do love a good tragedy from time to time though.

Oh gosh, anything goes. I listen to a very wide variety of music.

I start by listening to the song by itself, and then see how it inspires me. Sometimes an idea hits me right away and sometimes I just have to file it away for future use.

Firstly, I listen to songs on YT or some other sites. Then, if I like the song I'm trying to get an idea of how to do a video. If I don't get the idea, I leave it and go searching for some other, but sometimes first I get the idea then I choose the song :P

Tragic, romance, effect-filled videos which are not too massively used. I also love simple raw videos because sometimes raw editings can give out the most emotion.

Slow or fast-paced songs but not too fast. I'm not good at doing fast songs especially techno.

The inspiration suddenly come to me when I'm doing regular stuff in real life. Sometimes in my dream too. Then I would try finding a good song to match with my story and just start editing.

Storyline, timing, flow. I admit I'm very lazy but I can't help myself not hitting every beat in the song. And I try not to let myself hear the song I'm using over and over again..otherwise I'll get bored and a 3min vid could turn into a 1min

I like various styles, but it has to be beautifullly edited, with great effects, good timing and flow, and especially an artistic sense. It doesn't need to have a story, but it must give a great feeling. It don't like sad things, so I don't usually watch sad vids.

Anything that inspires me.

How do you start making a video?
It changes. Most often, I get inspired by a song and some images come to my mind, otherwise there's an idea I want to use in a video and I look for a song that fits it.

What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
Hum... I think DarMarf is right: having fun! Of course, I need to make sure that the effects I used are ok, the transitions and the masking as well and that the clips I've put fit my idea, I often redo some parts and add some things such as a border or a color correction.

I use 5 Centimeters per second usually, Kingdom Hearts Kairi/Sora, Roxas/Xion, FF Yuna/Tidus, Cloud/Zack

Funny, hyperactive ones are great to make, I enjoy being random, but sad ones are also good to make, for I like to make emotional videos.

I like songs types like from Owl City, and Cascada, and Bryan Adams, anything that has a great beat/tempo, or has beautiful lyrics.

I listen to my i-pod, here a good song, think if a good anime/game that would go with it, and think up a whole video in my head, though it usually comes out differently in the video making process.

I'm not much on effects, because I am not good at them =[
But the flow is something big, I want everything to match good with the song, and it to look nice and spark emotion. Stories, I am still new on~

Normally FFX and the Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts series, like video makers do, generically. XD But I'm also planning videos for Phantom of the Opera, Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, and any other media I can get my hands on. All in all, I'll vid for anything I'm interested in (which is a lot). I'm not generally held down by any one fandom.

Normally, I edit really sad videos, or beat-y videos, like gothic/punk rock stuff. I like to make an impression, which is usually the dramatic, sad kind of thing. I use video making as a way to express what I'm feeling at that moment, which, typically, is something angsty. Plus, I find I'm better at the really sad videos that make you want to cry, haha.

What kind of Music do you usually use in your videos?

Gothic rock, punk rock... rock in general? XD But I loooove using ballads, thought I haven't figured out how to edit them really well yet. Typically, I need a song with a really strong beat and rhythm, because I loooooove hitting beats and being precise on timing, since I tend to be really good with timing.

How do you start making a video?
Well, generally, I have an inkling of an idea in mind, either from hearing a song and being inspired by it, having a storyline jump into my head and eat my brain, or an experience that I need to get out in some sort of outlet that isn't my writing. I can't really sit down and edit without a clue as to what I'm doing. The only crappy thing about how I do this, though, is that my final product is never as good as what was in my head.

What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
Timing is extremely important to me. It bothers me when there's an obvious tempo that someone is ignoring. However, it doesn't irritate me as much if there's a storyline that's more important than the flow of the song. But I'd also have to say no half-baked effects, like a chroma keyer someone did halfway, or someone began with determination, then faltered in the middle and just wanted to end it (though we've all been there). But I also feel like if there is a story, it needs to be well thought out and have a plot that makes the reader/viewer feel something. Not something like, "Kairi met Sora and they kissed." This is mostly where my nature as a writer shows, and how irritated I can get if someone doesn't care enough to think a story through.

tbh, :p to get all of my ideas down in 1 video. the point of editing is to make it edited yknow? so i have trouble forgetting to remember everything before rendering. cuz i hate to have to esc render & then fix it so i usually dont haha!

I dont particularly like the sad angsty vids, i dont find them to be that creative, so when i see them i just end up thinking yer it was good but so were the other 100 vids that were exactly the same. Which is why Its gotta be funny, happy, upbeat!! I love humourous vids! They show off a persons skills and creativity so much more imoo. But then again imo. Im also obsessed with trailers too.

It needs to catch my attention, but I gravitate towards the romance, cross-pairing couples (like Zack/Tifa) as well as those that have great storylines and flowing, powerful editing, of course. Im not a huge fan of super flashy crazy videos where clips are used without much thought put into them, where the video is more about effects than anything else.

What kind of Music do you usually use in your videos?
Oh it can vary, I usually choose songs that are popular at the moment, but only because I like the song. Im a fan of orchestra/instrumental songs too, because they allow for more freedom of expression than being tied down by lyrics. Genre wise, I tend to stick with pop/soft-rock.

I sit and stare at the blank tracks thinking up a storyline. Then I usually walk away, take a shower or something, and think about the storyline and clips I could use. I always start by finding a song first, usually it sparks inspiration for a storyline. Then I go from there. If Im really stuck on how to start, Ill find the scenes I know I want to mask and just mask them while I think about how to begin the video.

What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
The most important thing for when I edit is storyline. Getting my idea across to the audience through my editing is what I strive for each time I come out with something. Masking is also something very important to me. I like to change things up by putting the characters in new situations that suit my story, and make it more interesting and fresh to watch. Flow is also another important aspect of my edting. Im not into the flashy effect-crazyness. Im more about the subtle art of editing.

I almost always work with Final Fantasy. But I'm trying to get into Resident Evil and Devil May Cry as well.

I usually do tributes. Pick a song that fits a character, find clips that match the lyrics, etc.

I usually use rock and metal. Though I'm open to other songs besides the mainstream stuff. Most mainstream musicians don't make the kind of music I like.

I usually listen to the song first and try to mentally figure out which scenes match, as well as figure out the pattern and flow of the music.

Usually to make the scenes match what the lyrics are saying and to match the type of clip with the flow of the music, especially in the instrumental bits. Fighting/Very active scenes for fast paced or non-fighting/less active scenes for slow paced.

I'm more into the dramatic, tragic, love, serious, meaningful type of videos, or ones with storylines. I just love how people can turn a situation different than what you see in the fandom itself. And I love unique, creative videos, that has that artsy aura to them that are different than the rest you see. Videos that stick out, since there are like, so many videos out there to watch, which sometimes can be the same, and repetitive, but when there's something refreshing and new, I just love, adore, and appreciate the work so much. And also videos where you can tell the person put their love into it.

Instrumentals since I'm a storyline editor. If I want to create a story line, and have a song with lyrics, it really distracts me and pulls me down as well damage from what I want to create.

Emotion, storyline and creativity, and whether the audience sees and feels what you wanted to convey. I think that's the most rewarding thing, when you try to convey something, and the audience caught and were moved by it, and related to it. Then I know I did my job. Also having fun, is an important thing also. ;33 It's like....one of the most important things to feel when editing. If you're editing and it feels like a chore, then why are you doing it?
