Which fandoms do you usually vid?
Final fantasy and kingdom hearts >w< in the FAAAAR future I want to edit a little bit on Disney films on anime but for now I'm burning my video passion on ff and kh :drunken:

Music-picking has GOT to be the MOST hardest process in video making!!!! :evil:
At least for me;;; That's why I usually enter contests or BBTS because THEY assign ME a song
so I don't have to choose the song XDDD when I do make viddies that's not for the contest, I seriously close my eyes and drag
music to sony vegas, think of story and start working on it.
How do you start making a video?
Various ways.....one day I made image with Namine on wheelchair, goes hmm and make a story and video out of that
I just start working my way out and make it up as I go along.....
or the other way is just think with head-banging with various plannings and researches and THEN I open up vegas and start working on it.
2nd way is mostly when I work on videos for contests....like my pocky commercial videos...I watched tons of commercials before I started that damn 30 seconds video.
What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
well, all of them, effects, storylines and flow, lyric followings....emotions... I really think they are all very important.
That's why I want to get them all perfect but unfortunately world doesn't work like that XD
I can make stories without any problems but all the other things.....I just...suck :suspect:

Final fantasy, usually. Although I have been known to wonder to the disney side of things.

I'm in love with Snow Patrol, my favourite band ever. So I generally vid music similar to theirs. Coldplay, Muse etc. I think the official term is brit pop.
How do you start making a video?
I usually get inspired for a certain bit of the song, and it's generally in the middle. So I start from the middle and work my way out, weirdly enough.
What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
Flooooow. Colouring is important, I think. TIMING. Um. Yeah, those generally rock my boat.

Usually i make videos about Final Fantasy, i don't care so much about the paring but i look more the story...but i feel more free with CloudXTifa when i gotta decide characters

Usually the story come with the song when i listen, when i gotta make a MEP with a song i haven't decided and i have free card... i put my head on the song until the idea come

I try to follow the timing the most because i'm not a great masker, but i repeat that to me is more important the story than the effect, i never give the song title to the video because i like to make a brain work XD

The most important thing to me when I edit has to be the flow of effects. If it's pleasing to the eye then I have succeeded ^^

depends on my mood (; sometimes, I just wanna watch dramatic & sad videos because I don't feel like "parteeh" and I wanna see and feel real emotions, but then again there are times when I only watch up-beat, effect whore-ish videos 'cause I'm like "yeaah, let's jump around, woot woot! 8D"

How do you start making a video?
when I wanna make a "simple" up-beat video, I just put some random clips and focus on the effects, I'm not really planning that. But when I wanna make a dramatic video, the story-line is very important for me and I'm planning every little detail (tho I'm not that good in dramatic viddies, in my opinion .. ^.~)

What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
when I started editing, I only focussed on effects, but not really on the flow of a video. now, the flow is very important for me and I try to use a minimum effects.

Well, that varies. I began with anime, then went over to games and currently, I'm vidding movies and series. But I suppose that I go back to both vidding anime and games every now and then, depending on my mood :P

Hm.. depends, but I would say hald dramatic, romance, funny and thriller videos...

Well, I've been using a lot of X-Ray Dogs songs, which are soundtrack and trailer music, but other than that, I suppose that I've use pop/rock a lot...

Usually, I get an idea stuck in my head, like I hear one song and realize that it would go great with a certain movie and/or clip and then I usually go on from there^w^ But sometimes, I even write a mini sketch to keep count of what I want to have in the video.. Although I often strain from them ^^"

I've always found that if I have some type of story in the bac of my head, it gets easier to edit and makes it easier to come up with clips that would work with that particular story ^^

Final fantasy... mostly. Almost only. But I have actually done some Twilight, Stardust, Ghost in the shell, Princess Mononoke, though they are hidden in the dephts of my computer. Can't wait to get my hands on Avatar ö_ö

The ones that fills me with inspiration.. lol that sounded weird. But some vids just talk to you. In a weird fashion way.
Im more in to slow, smooth vids than the ones that flash until eyes burn.

I have a drifting imagination, maybe I hear a song or something, and all of sudden a video idea hits me. Very annoying since this useally happens in the middle of the night when Im too tierd to vid and by the next day I lost it :/

Emotions I guess. I always try to feel when I edit, if that makes any sense. It has to be fun editing it aswell. I will never edit just for the sake of it...

Dramatic. Videos that are beautiful and colorful and sad with an incredible storyline make me swoon. Unfortunately, I fail at making them.

Mostly your dramatic music that is really only good for vidding xD
But lately I've been trying to branch off into what I actually listen to xDD
(that is, korean pop music /flails)
How do you start making a video?
Generally there is a song that really shouts out a pairing, or identifies with my life (I make way too many personal videos OTL) and I just go in, generally with a vision, but nothing special in the way of sketches xD
What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
To me? Overall feeling. I feel like a video, if someone was watching without completely paying attention (DDDx) they should still be able to get what the main emotion of the video is. Like if it's a scary video it should be gritty, sad should be soft, energetic... is flashy and so on.
I also think the colors of a video are very important. You can really make a statement with the colors of your video, or make a certain section pop with more saturation and so on.

Mostly Kingdom Hearts, due to the toll other footage takes on the computer's poor memory. But I have dabbled in Final Fantasy and anime, and with my new computer, I hope to use House, MD. =D

I'll be listening to a song, and just imagine where certain scenes could fit in it. Then I put it into vegas and try to make it into one cohesive video.

I try to visualize the finished product in my head for a couple of days before starting it. But once I start, I usually either get incredibly nit-picky about every scene or just end up getting lazy and then starting on another one.
What is the most important thing to you, when you edit?
FLOW, always flow. If the footage doesn't flow with the audio then it doesn't work. Also the use of effects can be so overstated in some amvs so I try to use as little effects as possible when I start, and then when I'm finished editing the raw footage, then the fun can begin^__^

Honestly, I started with KH and FF because they were the easiest to get a hold of. But when I started I never had played the games. Now a days I know how (and who) to go to for a lot of clips, plus I have my own DVD ripper. So now... I can vid everything. And that's how I like it. Jack of all trades, master at none. :3

Videos that portray the video editor's own personal style. It's like art. I love it all, because it shows all the different styles and abilities.

I listen to everything (really from frank Sinatra to alternative rock) but I tend to video to the more flowing songs. :\ A style I'm trying to refine.

Listen to music, brainstorm with friends, watch movies, and... mess around in vegas. XDD

I want to tell you a story. A story you'll repeat or share with another person. A story you want to reread, rewatch, and think about. I want to tell a story that makes you think, and makes you laugh. I want to tell you something that makes you remember or makes you dream. Because in the end, that's the only story worth telling. :]
