@RikuLover: Lol, like i said, i'm not trying to change any views or anything i'm just stating that CloudxTifa has finally been made official after all these years, i'm not a pairing basher at all :) The link is in the first comment i made on Page 1 ^^ The magazine is in Japanese but the moderators on Lifestream.net kindly translated what it said :) The magazine holds interviews of Tetsuya Nomura stating that they are the official FF7 Canon pairing =]

@Rachelplum: lol CloTi is a close second to my OTP ZackxTifa. Unfortunately there was no canon pairing mentioned for FF12, but if it had to be mentioned then the canon pairings would most likely be VaanxPenelo, AshexRasler and BalthierxFran, this is how i think gamers foresee them. In my opinion i only support AshexRasler i'm more of a BalthierxAshe shipper myself :) But don't get me wrong, i'm not against any of the pairings ^^

I quite like a few different 12 pairings, and I know that what's 'canon' for 12 can change depending on how you look at it, Balthier and Ashe had a lot of little moments, but so did Basch and Ashe, and Balthier and Fran - it would be interesting to get more definite answers even if they aren't pleasing xD But I bet if that had put it in they'd have only mentioned AshexRasler...they do like to tease! I'm surprised that they finally confirmed CloudxTifa, they implied it so much in some areas but deliberatly left it vague so often.

ZackxTifa are very cute too, but as Cloud is Zack's living legacy - you can't be too unhappy ey? :P

To but it bluntly if your talking about that lifestream sites bullshit then no. It hasn't been made offical. Square has never said "Cloud loves Tifa".

Before declairing false information and badly translated/explained/proven information, I would definitely take a look at this thread at the CxA forums which clears up a lot of misunderstandings made by Lifestream. That and the translator from what I've read is extremely biased and not a good source period. Square still has yet to prove either side as canon~ And of course~ I've been Clerith for a long time now and I still find the pairing to going strong <3

I'd suggest giving up on knowing the answer :p It's never gonna be announced and even if it was it'd never be Cloud x Tifa anyways~ It's already been said they have to many problems to work out and will always be more then friends less than lovers<3 haha

I see where you're coming from hun, but it has been officially announced by SE that CloTi is official, and it's not just the lifestream site, because even i now know that some of their opinions and translations are biased, so i tend not to believe it all the time. However the magazine that SE released for their 20th Anniversary clearly states all the canon pairings and this includes Cloud/Tifa. I'm not here to bash anyones opinion as i have stated many times through out this discussion but even if the translators were being biased there is no denying that that magazine is false.

I also thought that yeah, Aerith and Cloud cared for another like that, but Tifa was the original love and Aerith's death sent her back to her cannon pairing, Zack. Which in a way was really sweet. I've even edited a video where in heaven after Zack dies, afterlife is paradise, then he remembers he's missing the love of his life Aerith and it breaks apart, at the end she dies and reunites with him .-.

Anywho Tifa x Cloud is cool because Cloud had that crush on her when he was idy bidy and then slowly she liked him back until she was the one pursuing him.

Anyways *cough* That's exactly how i see the whole concept of CloudxAerith/CloudxTifa, yes it is announced Cloud did develop feelings within the FFVII game however he felt that he couldn't let go of his feelings for Tifa. And i'm sure all of you have seen the moment between Cloud and Tifa where Tifa was two steps from announcing her love to him. I just think because of the matters they have to deal with both physically and mentally that there is no time for love. Personally i would want nothing more than for Zack and Tifa to get together, them being my OTP and all, but SE unfortunately cannot do that XD I really do appreciate the pairing Cloud/Aerith and i'm not saying the love wasn't there, it's just it's impossible to love someone in a physical manner when they have moved onto the Lifestream. I would love to believe that Zack/Aerith have developed there relationship even after life :)

Give me an offical quote that says "Cloud loves Tifa." I want it off a Square-Enix site as well. No other site will do. It's only offical if it comes straight for them, and isn't translated by anyone else. They have a translation team I'm sure if it's so offical and they really felt this way they'd have it translated themselves. Also the 20th Anniversary says nothing about the High Affection system being canon, only optional.

The fact of the other matter is you do realize right that I doubt Square's willing to piss their motherland off? Unless there was a major shift in power Clerith has always been far more popular in Japan then in America and I doubt they'd take another countries thoughts over their own so I hardly see them doing something so brash like that if they haven't said it in the last few years.

You saying "Square said it!" with no actual quote, or citation makes it just your opinion. The other fact of the matter is just because Tifa loves Cloud doesn't mean Cloud has to like her back. You can tell anyone you love them that does mean they have to love you back. Also if the magazine is suppose to be about the canon pairings from what I understand why is the date scene between Cloud and Aerith, which I should remind you is DEFAULT and has nothing to do with affection like with Tifa, be in the magzine at all if it was to prove Cloti and talk of only canon pairings? Square is not stupid enough to end the debate, and they never will. You hold far to much hope in something that you can't really prove to be honest.

Actually Aerith was always the original love interest. She was brought into the scene before Tifa even existed. It is also proven that Aerith ends up saying she loves Cloud more then Zack, and we get to see Cloud call Aerith his Kobito in Maiden who Travels the Planet.

Just cause she died doesn't mean she went back with Zack.

Eh the problem with that is that Tifa always treated Cloud pretty poorly as a Child. It was only after he left and reappeared did she give to shits about him. I don't consider that really a great love in the making, but to each their own.

Okay i think we need to cool down XD i made this into a discussion not an argument and this is what i was worried about. No i don't have official quotations from SE but what i do have is absolute proof which, even though Cloud doesn't say it straight out he admits he has the same feelings as Tifa. You know that scene under the highwind where Tifa leans on Cloud's shoulder. But anyways, i don't want any further arguments due to the fact if it continues i will be forced to delete this discussion, and Tenshi dear you're in my Studio as well i don't want us to fall out or anything :( i know you are a strong willed Clerith fan as i am a CloTi fan, but i am respecting the other parties side, not bashing around one of my favorite pairings. Cloud & Tifa is that one true couple.
Yes, Cloud & Aerith have had some"connections" but that only due to the fact most of the connections were relating or SIMILAR to Zack Appearance.
Aerith only fell in love with Cloud because Zack simulated him.
Cloud & Tifa are CHILDHOOD Friends. They been together for....a long time.
Cloud leaves and Tifa waits for him, he hides in his suit and Tifa Just keeps on waiting. Usually, Childhood friends will end up together.

and I'm only saying this to feel like I'm actually a part of this. xD

I always saw Aeris as more of a mother/big sister figure for Cloud, that's really how she came off to me in AC. Then again, I've only ever seen Advent Children and bits of Crisis Core, so what do I know?

This is a quotation from FindingMyFantasy's channel and I think it sums up everything I believe too:

Aeris' love for Cloud was just a fickle imitation, a reenactment, of Aeris' love for Zack. Zack lived on in Cloud, (living legacy and all that), and that's the part of Cloud Aeris loved, and that's the part of Cloud that loved Aeris. But they never could, would or should have a proper relationship, or be together. If there'd been no Hojo-experiments I find it hard to believe Cloud and Aeris would ever work.

I only support Zerith, btw. Imo that was the only real cannon in the game.

I agree with the quote Feta just posted. There's absolutely no denying that there was something there between Cloud and Aerith, whether it was just Zack's legacy or not.
