What was the first anime that you ever watched?

Ok, seriously... I think the first anime I watched because I liked it was Naruto U.U

hmm i watched a bunch of animes when i was little without knowing what anime was XDDD
so they dont rly count... id say the first anime i watched (with japenese audio of course) was probably Elfien Lied... lol ^^

pokemon.. but i didnt knew it was anime , then came dragonball z , then i think either tokyo mew mew or an danish ( cartoon/anime) called w.i.t.c.h. and then sailor moon. and then the first time i watched anime knowing it was an anime was DN angel ...

oh yearh i also watched digimon and umh those fairies .... with stella xDD lol ive watched so many of those small thingies for kids what about totally spies ? xD lol i dont know which counts o.o .... and yogioh once too damn theres so many well pokemon was my first one which was made in japan or not from america and denmark ( if u know what i mean ? ) i was 5 when i started watching it ...

Saying this makes me feel old, but Speed Racer. Granted, I was probably still in diapers at the time, and they were reruns I would watch with my dad but still. Mobile Suit Gundam (Wing mostly, but I think I saw parts of other Gundam series when I was young) and more semi recently Cowboy Bebop were what really got me interested in anime though.

Well Pokemon lmao. But I don't really consider It a real anime. Pokemon to me Is more like a umm... Cartoon show for kids. That's at least my opinion. So with that said, the first real first anime I watched was D.N.Angel. This Is a really awesome anime that came out 2001 or so. You'll be missing out If you don't watch it. In terms of enjoyment that Is, yes you will enjoy watching It If you do. And If you don't you have horrible taste o.o

omg for me it was sailor moon. & then after that show was over, i watched dragon ball z o.o it was on toonami at 4 :D!! but the first anime that i knew was anime was chobits :] & then that turned into mermaid melody & all kinds of stuff haha! the latest ive watched are code geass & ouran

Hm, well I guess if Pokémon counts as an anime, it was most definitely that.

Besides that, it was Naruto (which I'm following in English, so please don't discuss anything from the manga/Japanese anime that comes after the English dubbed Shippuden episodes that have been released), followed by Air TV, Shuffle! and then The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (ADORED the Phoenix Wright reference in one of the later episodes! Don't know if anyone here also caught that). I haven't watched any others. I watched Sailormoon a bit as a kid, but only like, an episode here or there if it just happened to be on the toon channel, haha.

I think it was AKIRA. ;DD I remember it was the first time I heard swearing in an animated film, and I was totally shocked as a little innocent child. xD And I was totally fascinated how hardcore this "cartoon" was. 8D

But when I was little, they broadcast-ed some cartoons that came from Japan, so I'd guess I'd consider them my definite first. But besides that, I'm pretty sure it was Akira, than Sailormoon. ^w^

errr ... i dunno .. but i think it was Pokémon ? XDDD

Okay, I count Sailor Moon, but I didn't know it was an anime back then, and Inuyasha because I knew it was. I think i kinda count Naruto too, because it got me more into anime.

Yeah! For me Sailor moon was like the first anime (that I watched through) and CCS was the first manga I read
And it took me 5 years to fall out of sailor moon and 10 years to fall out of CCS XD
Still like them both now too

Sailor moon, card captors, dragon ball z, pokemon or digimon, can't remember which xD. I really liked card captors though.

mine was sailor moon XD my mom says i was soo obsessed with it as a kid that the only way to wake me up for school was if she played the soundtrack for me lol

^ Aww really? Thats so cute xD apparently when I was really little I was obsessed with Barney. O_o My mom said she would just put in a tape and loop the tape, and Id sit there watching it all day. She said Barney was a great babysitter LOL but this doesnt really fit in with anime. Im just saying :)

Hmm....I think Cardcaptors was first for me, I didnt know what "anime" was though back then, I just saw it all as cartoons.

i remember for sailor moon my favorite episode is when they showed the back story to the tuxedo man and sailor moon! IT WAS SO CUTE! x3

I think I started off with Card Captor Sakura, but I really can't remember much. Only that there were cards and a brunette with pink clothes.
I've listened to Sailor Moon audiocassettes, but I don't know if that counts as an anime.

But the first Anime that got me hooked was Myself; Yourself.

Mine was probably Pokemon, and then Fruits Basket.
