I saw the trailer for DMC5 a few months ago, it looks really disappointing. But I gonna buy it anyway :3

I ADORE Devil May Cry! The 5th game really upsets me, and it isn't just because of his design. :| Dante is now part angel--wtf? Seriously? If this is what they do to him, I'm scared of what they'll do once they get their hands on Vergil.

Sad but true I am sorry to say. :| It actually makes me appreciate Nero a little more now. xD Not that I didn't like him; I was just too focused on Dante. Still, I don't like his design. He doesn't even LOOK like Dante anymore. I also heard they are following the anime's story line and naming him Tony Redgrave. /facepalm

Woah, a movie? *_* I had absolutely no idea! I kind of hope it isn't, though. ;-; If they pull a Resident Evil on these movies, I will cry.

As much as this pains me to say, it could still work. :| Dante isn't really "Dante" anymore; they rebooted the series, meaning anything goes. It just makes me so upset that this company that really has no name thinks they can just step in, change everything about a classic game, and then proceed to ignore and insult the fans. :|

Complete reboot of the entire series, I'm sad to say. It's going to be taking place as "younger" erm...."Dante". Try around fifteen or sixteen years old, according to what I've heard. :| They are somehow going to tie in a trigger trigger and angel bullshit, but I doubt it's going to relate back to the old series.

God i think they are starting to ruin the series now ._.

I mean DMC 1, 2 and 3 were all awesome.
4 was okay, but they replaced dante with nero (even though we could play as dnate half way through it just wasnt the same)
And now they are changing dante completely... *sad sigh*

Yeah, as far as I can tell, DMC (the reboot) is 100% unconnected to the storylines of Devil May Cry 1-4. His first trigger happens in 3, so the story for DMC isn't about his birth into demonhood. It's separate.

I'm hesitant about the new installment, honestly. A lot of things about it look like they're going in the wrong direction with a great classic. However, I'll still play it, if only for the fact that it might end up totally honoring the original series and being great. Though the monsters in it look pretty...dumb. Like the weird slug lady looking thing at the end of one of the trailers? >.> Seriously, Ninja Theory (it is Ninja Theory, right?)

However, despite the changes, there are a few things I'm really excited for. For one, the fact that the city is sentient and it has these weird hints of a sort of Inception feel to it (with the whole "this reality is not real" thing) has me excited. Though, I still have my fingers crossed that they're maybe going with the books and that this will focus in on Tony Redgrave and Gliver. THAT would be awesome. Two thumbs up from me, if they go with that.

Even though Dante's new look is pretty much a bummer in a lot of respects, I like that his devil trigger (or whatever it will be) has the return of his white hair and red coat. A small homage to the old fans.

I'm just hoping that the reboot is successful. 'Cause it's either going to blow minds or suck. so. much. But I'm optimistic. I'll probably rent it as compared to buying it flat out, but I'm optimistic. XD

Lol, I'd like to give it a chance, but I'm not even paying Ninja Theory any money. They are so rude to their fans! It's ridiculous. Plus I'm not happy about the frps going back down to 30 for the cutscenes. It's like a downgrade from Devil May Cry 4. I feel like all of the new games in the series introduce a new style of fighting (Dmc was the original, 2 the wall climbing, 3 the style system, and 4 the devil bringers) but this game has nothing new to add. :| I'm not being judgmental, but since they are working "so hard" on this game, you'd think it would floor us. Instead they go ahead and make Dante half angel....and then demean the fans....and complain about us complaining?

Rest in piece, Devil May Cry series. It was fun playing you. Although, it'd be funny if the new HD releases of the old games sold more than the new one will. I'd laugh so. hard.

Sadly, yeah. :| They mocked the fans when Dante's new design was released, and people flipped out. Then they mocked the original games, etc. I might actually give this game a chance if the company making it wasn't so high strung and stuck on themselves. I love Dante and his story, but I refuse to support a company that belittles its consumers. >_>

But then again (I highly doubt it) it may be a good game to play. I'm going to play it because I love the DMC series so I'm willing to give the game a chance.

Well it seems I'm the only one who is actually loving the new DMC5.
I am playing the shit outta that game when it comes out. The killer combo moves they have going on?! Hell yeah baby. I'm there.
I don't really care that much for storyline, because all the other DMC's never really had a storyline worth following, it was just 'have a gun, oh look, kill some zombie dolls. Kill some demons, solve this puzzle. Beat the crap outta this weird contraption, Kill a boss. Save the girl THE END''

Yeah like spazzlings says, it's an entirely new series of DMC. Nothing whatsoever to do with Capcom's original Devil May Cry. So don't be thinking that it's the same Dante cos it's not lol
and I'd like to see Vergil in it as well. I can imagine him being a general in a military of some kind. A British military. lol
I was hoping that DMC would cover Nero's origins, but seems I'm not gunna get that til later.
