Rurouni Kenshin 15th Year Anniversary <3

The June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is announcing on Thursday that production on a new Rurouni Kenshin anime project has been green-lit. More information will be provided in future issues of Jump Square.

The magazine also noted that the Blu-ray Disc versions of the two Rurouni Kenshin original video anime (OVA) projects and the Rurouni Kenshin: Ishin Shishi no Chinkonka [Requiem] film will ship between August 24 and October 26. A compilation CD will ship on July 27. Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan Saisen, a new game for the Sony PSP system, already shipped last month.

Nobuhiro Watsuki's original 1994-1999 samurai manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump inspired a television anime series that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Viz Media published the manga in North America, and Media Blasters' AnimeWorks label released the television anime. ADV Films released the two OVA projects and the film under the licenser's prescribed title Samurai X.

Since he ended the Rurouni Kenshin manga, Watsuki drew Gun Blaze West and Buso Renkin. His current title, Embalming - The Another Tale of Frankenstein, has been running in Jump Square since the magazine's inaugural issue in 2007.

Not gonna lie I'm very excited by this <3 It makes me wonder if they'll follow the manga more closely with this new Rurouni Kenshin anime, and how the Art style will be since their OVA's have always been beautiful but the Anime just had meh art style.

Dude, I am probably just as excited as you are. In fact, because I found this out a little while ago, from a facebook ad, I took my dvd set and started rewatching the show with my mother. Imma take pics of the dvd case, its beautiful and awesome! I am so excited. However,

I am worried about certain changes. I hope they do NOT change Kenshin's voice, [Japanese voice actress. English dubs FAIL] for I am completely in love with it and him <-- (>///<)
THE MUSIC...is so beautiful and epic also just well suiting, I hope the same person composes it.

THE ART - I hope the character concept stays the same. I do not like the way the characters look in the OVA. The anime series is completely adorable, beautiful and well, anime like. Kenshin looked so dead in the OVA and weird.

Also, I am not quite sure but, either this "new" rurouni is either: 1. A completely different anime series, following the manga or changing things.
2. a season 4 to the original anime series. A lot of people are saying a "season 4" but I hope its a completely new anime, Rurouni Kenshin deserves it. A lot of these new animes are lacking a lot of things the old one has. So, maybe if they redo the show, these new anime lovers will know what" GREAT" Anime is. The guy put his heart and soul into the show and manga. I really, really, really love Rurouni Kenshin, and I would love if everyone watched it.


P.S. Sorry so long, but I want to edit with rurouni Kenshin too....but i am scared of getting a copyright...very scared for it will be my 3rd strike.
If u edit with it, how do u avoid copyright? Also, can u make me a kenshin icon? <3

lol I doubt Mayo Suzukaze would let anyone but herself do it, unless she has become tired of playing him that is. She did all of the work for him except for the CD book which is shocking since the last OVA done [Reflections] isn't even a canon movie.

I actually hope they clean up the art and make it look more like Nobuhiro Watsuki's art by the end of the manga~ Just as they tried to in Reflections. It was gorgeous beyond words. His style by the end of the manga was mind blowing and how the first anime should have looked.

As far as I can know no actual information has been given on what they are planning to do with it. So we can only wait and see. I doubt they'd just animate Jinchuu since Reflection did so.

I've never had a problem with copyright with Kenshin, and I've probably edited with it for about 2-3 years now. I actually have a few icons I already have made you can use. Do you want just him or is there another character you'd like to see?

Really, a new Rurouni Kenshin anime? Now that would be fantastic! I had no problem with the last one, but the 3rd season sure was.. odd :P I hope it won't be a fourth season.. The serie deserves a remake! =)

I, myself, have watched this anime from beginning to end and would be exstatic to see a continuation to it with a fourth season. I thought the third season was very uplifting and that the anime should continue on from there. I hope that with a continuation Kenshin and Kaoru's relationship grows along with the anime itself. I love this anime the way they have made it so far and think that it would be redundent to do a remake when it is already perfect the way it is. I also hope that they bring back all of the original voice actors for the continuation, japanese as well as english.

but he was quite handsome in Trust&Betrayal.
But i did notice the turn the art took in reflections. so it was planned?
